What is an EPC?
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) shows how energy efficient a property is, giving it a rating from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). It also provides recommendations for improving the property’s energy performance.
Commercial properties generally need a valid EPC when they are built, sold or rented, making it an important part of managing your property and meeting legal obligations. The assessment should be carried out by a registered assessor every 10 years.

Why is an EPC necessary?

Legal compliance
All commercial businesses require an EPC for their premises, unless exempt.

Avoid penalties
Non-compliance can result in fines and restrictions on property rentals.

Lower costs
Assess energy efficiency and uncover opportunities to reduce consumption, carbon emissions and running costs.

Improve property value
A strong EPC rating can increase your property's appeal, protect rental income and future sale value.
